Projects
Water for Women is partnering with 10 Civil Society Organisations (CSO's) to deliver 20 WASH Projects in 15 countries in Asia and the Pacific. Over the course of the Fund, Water for Women hopes to support an estimated 3.03 million people. Explore these projects below.

Mobilising, facilitating and replicating socially inclusive WASH initiatives in India’s urban slums Partnering with the Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR) in reaching some of India’s most at risk people through Mobilising, facilitating and replicating socially inclusive WASH initiatives in India’s urban slums. |

2. Water for Women: Pakistan |
Leveraging Inclusive WASH for Empowerment (LIFE). Partnering with International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Leveraging Inclusive WASH for Empowerment (LIFE) to provide inclusive and sustainable WASH services to an estimated 168,750 people and improved governance systems in three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. |
3. Water for Women: Bhutan |
Beyond the Finish Line: Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All. Partnering with SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) in delivery of Beyond the Finish Line - Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All in Bhutan to provide equitable, universal access to safely managed sanitation and hygiene for more than 214,500 people. |
4. Water for Women: Nepal |
Beyond the Finish Line: Inclusive and Sustainable Rural Water Supply Services in Nepal. Partnering with SNV Netherlands Development Organisation to deliver Beyond the Finish Line - Inclusive and Sustainable Rural Water Supply Services to improve health, gender equality and social inclusion, and wellbeing, reaching an estimated 82,600 people and 30 institutions in rural communities in Nepal. |
5. Water for Women: Bangladesh |
SHOMOTA - strengthening gender equality and social inclusion in WASH in Bangladesh. Partnering with World Vision Australia in the delivery of SHOMOTA - strengthening gender equality and social inclusion through WASH in Bangladesh to reach an estimated 179,528 people in schools and communities in Jamalpur, Gaibandha, and Sathkhira districts of Bangladesh. |
Pacific
6. Water for Women: Fiji |
Strengthening community resilience and inclusion through Improved WASH services in Fiji. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity in Strengthening community resilience and inclusion through improved WASH services in Fiji, reaching thousands of people in 18 communities across Ra and Ba Provinces. |
7. Water for Women: Solomon Islands |
New Times, New Targets: supporting Solomon Islands Government WASH transition and resilient WASH for all. Partnering with Plan International Australia in the delivery of “New Times, New Targets”, designed to improve WASH services, access and practice in 60 rural communities, 8 health clinics and 22 schools of western Guadalcanal Province in the Solomon Islands. |

Implementing Inclusive WASH for the people of Wewak, Papua New Guinea Partnering with WaterAid in delivering Inclusive WASH for Wewak, which aims to benefit thousands of people in the Wewak district of East Sepik Province in Papua New Guinea. |

Resilient WASH in the Islands Region of Papua New Guinea Partnering with Plan International in supporting local government in Kavieng District, New Ireland Province and Northern Region, Autonomous Region of Bougainville to deliver safe, secure, sustainable and inclusive WASH services for communities. |

WASH Voices for Empowerment (WAVE) Partnering with World Vision Australia in the delivery of WASH Voices for Empowerment (WAVE) to improve access to gender and socially inclusive, sustainable WASH for 40,000 people in Western Province, Papua New Guinea. |
8. Water for Women: PNG WASH Consortium – WaSH Em i Bikpela Samting |
Water for Women’s Papua New Guinea WASH Consortium, WaSH Em i Bikpela Samting (WEBS), comprises four civil society organisations – World Vision, WaterAid, Plan International Australia and Live & Learn Environmental Education. 'WaSH Em i Bikpela Samting' translates from Tok Pisin to English as, ‘WASH is important.’ |

Laetem Dak Kona: gender-equitable and disability-accessible WASH in Vanuatu. Partnering with World Vision Australia in the delivery of Laetem Dak Kona: gender-equitable and disability-accessible WASH to an estimated 20,000 people in Sanma and Torba provinces of Vanuatu |

10. Water for Women: Six Provinces in Cambodia |
Cambodia water, sanitation, and hygiene scale-up program 2.0 (WASH-SUP2) Partnering with International Development Enterprises (iDE) to deliver WASH-SUP2 – Cambodia Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Scale Up Program 2.0 installing 35,000 toilets, upgrading 15,000 dual pits and reaching an estimated 944,840 people with improved WASH services in six provinces of Cambodia. |
10. Water for Women: Nine Provinces in Cambodia |
Women-Led Output Based Aid (WOBA) in Cambodia. Partnering with Thrive Networks to deliver Women Led Output Based Aid (WOBA) to 30,000 households including 15,000 households of the poorest and most vulnerable in 23 districts across nine provinces of Cambodia, reaching an estimated 95,300 people. |

Women Led Output Based Aid (WOBA) in Vietnam. Partnering with Thrive Networks to deliver Women Led Output Based Aid (WOBA) to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in 5 provinces of Vietnam, reaching an estimated 323,000 people. |
15. Water for Women: Timor-Leste |
Beyond Inclusion: realising gender transformational change and sustainable wash systems. Partnering with WaterAid in delivering Beyond Inclusion: realising gender transformational change and sustainable wash systems in Timor-Leste to address the multiple dimensions of inequality in access to services, reaching an estimated 47,000 people |
Research Projects
Research is an important element of Water for Women. The Water for Women Fund aims to raise the bar in terms of gender and socially inclusive research, analysis, design and program delivery in WASH, and in doing so to lead practice globally.
