CFAR India’s Saniwall empowers communities to lead inclusive, climate-resilient WASH service delivery. By identifying barriers and building leadership, it translates policies into actionable solutions for slums, redefines power structures, and institutionalizes gender, equity, diversity, and social inclusion (GEDSI) in WASH governance.

Period Pathways: Leveraging Design to Break Down Barriers in Menstrual Health

Drawing from some of the best tools and frameworks that human-centred design (HCD) has to offer, the “Period Pathways” tool combines three specific HCD tools: card sorting, generating personas, and plotting personas on a framework, our Menstrual Health Experience Matrix. These tools are intentionally sequenced together to create a comprehensive and empathetic framework for understanding and addressing the complexities of menstrual health and hygiene (MHH).

Climate Hero Toolkit

A personas approach to strengthening local government leadership for climate-resilient WASH was developed by the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney. The initiative aims to support emerging leaders in local government to advocate for, plan, and implement climate-resilient and inclusive WASH delivery in collaboration with SNV in Laos, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Climate Change Response for Inclusive WASH: A guidance note for WaterAid Timor-Leste

Developed in collaboration with WaterAid Timor-Leste field staff, this guidance note offers practical, community-based activities designed to engage local stakeholders in understanding how climate impacts on WASH affect different groups of people in diverse ways. It also emphasises the importance of gender and social inclusion in strengthening climate resilience within WASH systems. This guidance aims to inspire the broader global WASH sector by highlighting the critical role of gender and social inclusion in building climate-resilient WASH solutions.


World Water Week is the leading conference on global water issues, the place to explore new ways of managing water and WASH and tackle humanity’s greatest challenges.

Organised by SIWI, this year's event will take place from 25-29 August. Participants will be able to attend both online for free or in person at the Waterfront Congress Center in Stockholm, Sweden.
